What is R129?
R129 is the most up to date safety standard for car seats.
Main features of R129 seats:
– Tested by the height of your child rather than weight
– Advanced side impact protection testing
– Rearward facing – children must be rearward facing until at least 15 months
Stage 1 (Forward facing)
– 76cm to 105cm (approx 15 months to 4 Years)
– Installation Stage 1: Vehicle seat belt and 5-point harness
The harness should be even with the child’s shoulders and can be adjusted to 1 of 10 heights for proper positioning. These toddler car seats also convert to a belted booster from 100 to 150cm. At this stage the harness is removed and the child is fitted into the seat using the vehicle seat belt.
